Default Nurburgring Trip

Just got back from Germany last night. I took my RS up to the Ring, last Friday what a fantastic experience. I bought a ticket online for 4 laps a few weeks ago and I had no trouble getting on - even with the Tourist plates.

There were a lot of cool cars there, a few Ultima GTR's, Lancia EVO, a 996GT3RS, a bunch of GT3's, CLK DTM, and CLK 63 Black series.

The track is amazing - an incredible experience that everyone should try with a Euro Delivery.

I will post some pics once I size them down.

Chris L and I are going to do the Ring Taxi next month. Should be one of the highlights of the trip.

I didn't see you on Friday. Too bad, I would have loved to chat.

I passed a few GT3s with the 318i hire car but didn't see one on export plates.

I was there from 2:30 to about 5:00 last Friday.
I had the GT3RS silver/orange.
I drove fairly slow since it was my first time at the Ring and I had my new wife in the passenger seat with me - we got married 3 weeks ago in Austria.

I didn't get out 'til after 1700 on Friday. Must have just missed you. I always look for the Zoll plates to say hello.

RR- I'm gonna be in your same position in about 2 months- how sketchy is the track if you're just taking it easy?

You are much better off taking a passenger lap or having someone show you around the first lap as you can get caught out in a couple places.

you have to take it slow.
there will be a lot of guys on the track who know the track, blasting away...you'll be fine..just don't drive too fast the first few laps...

It is better to learn the Ring while it is quieter during weekdays. That way you can focus on driving the line (slowly). When the track is busy slow cars have to stay on the right (while being overtaken frequently) which makes it difficult to learn the lines.

I was there at the same time! It was the start of a very busy weekend there - including the Panamera out testing.

Let me just find a pic or two (just got back).
