Default Thought you track guys would get a kick

out of the new toy.

Just arrived yesterday. Running full heim joints throughout, Motons, upgraded brakes, rebuilt 3.64 diff. Motor is a 300 rwhp euro 3.2, complete with CF intake plenum, cams. Still sorting out some tuning issues, will be swapping the seats and attend to cosmetic stuff. Should be fun!

BMWs can be cool. I always like the last generation (non-Bangle) 540i/M5 6 speed sedan.

A friend just bought a 335i coupe. And ... she bought the 6 speed.

LOL, maybe 1/3 my engine.

Weighs in at 2900 lbs wet. Will be getting lighter with some changes down the road.

Oh, and NO SUNROOF!

Awesome car.

I'd get a 4.10 diff but it should still be fun.
That thing if driven right will scare the crap out of GT3 guys who'd need to start droving properly to stay ahead.

Mmmmm.... Motons .....

I still have more work to do, but so far the coolest thing about the car are the damn shocks. From what I can tell, these Motons are friggen magic. I'm running 750lb springs but nevertheless its amazing how fast the shocks are to soak up stuff. It's by no means a comfortable car, but far more compliant than one might expect.

I know a lot of you guys aren't into bmws, but the ltw was the equivalent of the rs in some ways: no AC, no sunroof, aluminum doors and factory aero (front adjustable splitter and adjustable rear wing). My goal was to 'right the wrong' bmw did to the US, but putting in place the proper Euro motor.

amaist, yeah, E36s drive so easily relative to a GT3 (even the new ones) that my new toy should keep the local GT3 drivers on their toes. I would have gone with a 4.10 rear end, but the 3.64 is a pretty good match for the tracks around here, and I didn't opt for the 6 speed tranny.
