Thanks.
TC racing and peloton, grussell is selling two sets of those bbs wheels. if they fitted my car, they would have both been sold by now. get them while you can. they cost an arm/leg when new.

Boyd, will you be at Homestead this weekend with PBOC ??

I'll be trying 888's this weekend, since I finished my RA1's. As Mooty stated, understeer gone. I've also tried MPSC's in 18, but the main issue for me here is that the car can really use a little wider tire up front, and MPSC's only come in 235's. I will report back after using the 888's, and see if I prefer them over the RA1's.

RA1 shaved, with Brut shaving cream, Gillette double blade, no aftershave :-)) (I don't know the debt)

I had the car alligned to the trackspec, the RA1 lasted either 2 or 3 weekends, the fronts are fine, but the rears are corded on the inside. Not sure if this is a toe issue or driving to and from the track at 100 miles each way. On my GT3/6 i had the same issue until I installed the Tarrett Racing arms

ah, you wimp.
i dont use shaving cream or aftershave, just a butcher knife and 20 seconds. i scared the crap out of my roommates in college when i would do that.

SOME DATA FOR OTHERS AND MANY QUESTIONS FOR YOU.

my RS is also on track spec per manual.
i have TRG's toe arm/link thing (similar to tarret i think, minor differneces).
the tires were full tread.
now has 450 trackmiles and 1100 street miles. the inside has SLIGHTLY more wear than front. but at least 1/2 of the tread is still there. i would think another 200 track miles will bring them to prime depth, then 400-500 miles after that before cording (assuming i dont do much street miles in b/n). so i am looking at 1200 track miles for full tread set. maybe 900 miles if i shaved them to 4/32 to start.

i have a set at 3/32, i will keep log on it's life span.

what is the pricing on R888, and where did you find them?
do you shave the R888? i know they have less depth than RA1 to start with.

what pressure did you run on RA1 (i ran 38/40 hot)
what pressure you plan to run on R888?

Got the R888's thru my local tire guy, Ernie Bello Motorsports. 561 686 1035, who never has them in stock, but is usually able to find whatever tire i'm looking for.

Pressures on RA1's right around 38-40, planning the same w 888's

Just got a set of R888. F:255x18, R:315x18. They seem to be fitting pretty well. No rubing in the front (at low speed at least). Will be going to Watkins Glen for three days in 10 days. Tires will be shaved. I will give some feed back upon my return. Has anyone tried this?

Stephan, I will report on mine too. I could not get mine shaven on time and mine will be 245 and 305's, but if you don't have any issues this weekend with your abs or TC, then I will get my next set the same size as yours.

Frafoss - I set my car up differently from the track spec in the manual. Neg 2.5 in front and neg 2.0 in the rear. Front toe 2 mins per wheel. Rear toe 16 mins per wheel. My tires are wearing nicely and evenly. No prepmature inside edge wear in the back which is common with neg 2.5 in back.

Sway bars are set middle hole in front an one from stiff in the back.

Regards,

Frafoss, I used the track allignment spec in the manuel.

Bob, are you running 18" wheels or are you still running the stock rims ?. If I cord my current set of rear tires again I will try your allignment. My car was lowered to lowest possible spec per manual, I don't know if this had anything to do with it. So far I only have one event on my 888's, and the tires look fine, but the track that I used them on was not that rough on tires.
