Mooty and Bob:
Thanks and I will order some tires and see what happens. I will Try Michelins first since I have used them on Cayman and they seemed okay.
Thanks again!

I had the same experience. I went through 2 sets of the 19" MPSC's and as soon as I changed to 18" with 245 in front the car went from understeer to oversteer.

Now I am running Cup/RSR suspension with Pirelli slicks

I have 2 sets of BBS 18" and several sets of Hoosiers available if anyone is interested.

hehe you got it man. I will I've narrowed it down to two choices. I know the HRE Cup wheel will work but I might try this other one as well. Will keep you posted!

Bob,

The tires rotating on the rim is not a Hoosier problem alone, it has happened with the Cups also. Alot of Club Racers are having this problem, it has more to do with the type of rims and a "heavy" car with very grippy tires.
Try lighty bead-blasting or sanding the inside of the rim were the tire touches the medal and use AquaNet(don't laugh)hair spray as the wetting agent when you mount the tires.
This has helped many a racer but some are still having the problem.
Another trick is to balance the rim without the tire on it and don't worry about balancing the rim and tire, it helps cut down on vibrations when the tire moves.

Bob and mooty,

Are you guys running steel brakes to fit the 18's or have you found 18" rims (like Fikse's?) that clear the PCCB's?

Thanks.

Good question. I'm also interested. Which 18" rims will clear PCCBs?

I am using cast iron rotors, no problems with the 18 inch Fikse wheels.

Default 18" Hoosiers

Bob, were you using 305 or the 315's in the rear? Also, can you comment on the rear wing settings you have used at both of your tracks? Specifically, what differences have you noticed in handling when using agressive wing setting vs. neutral.

remember, RA1 is not as sticky as hoohoo or mpsc at their best, but RA1 is very consistent and predicatable. you can't have them all.

btw, eric also found his RS transformed after he dumped the 19" cups.
Mooty was very, very fast with his RA1's last weekend at Thunderhill. And, his RA-1's were not even shaved.

grussell,

Could you kindly be more specific about which model(s) 18" BBS fit over PCCB?

Thanks.
