Default How does this detach?

Solved my previous parts problem (I'll post a pic tomorrow in case it crops up for anyone else), but now I've another question.

I want to remove the plastic cover at the rear of the trunk/boot, but I think this 'eye' (as described in PET) needs to come off first. How is it attached (mine seems to be absolutely solid, but I can't see how to detach it) and, while we're at it - what is it for anyway?

Do not know how to detach it (surprised it is fixed to begin with) but I believe it is the attachment point for the cabriolet wind screen device storage bag. Why it is in a GT3 or my 997 TT coupe is a mystery - rationalization I suppose.

Try Renntech.org for goo 'How To" technical advice.

Doubt it. Probably just using up some excess Cab parts.

slide the inside bar to the left, while looking at the vehicle front ( it will take some force). Once that is removed slide the whole assembly to the left and dislodge it from the holder

It's off (actually, it was to the car's left and the bar didn't need to come out first) - thanks.

I guess you could hang a crash helmet from it to legitimise it for GT3 use...

John, in the picture at the top of this thread - what's the box that bulges into the rear of the luggage compartment? Looks like a CD multichanger, but that isn't an option on the GT3.

Never having ordered PCM before, I didn't realise that the DVD took up this space in the boot. Seems quite wasteful of space, given that my Garmin fits Europe onto its built-in memory!

I've specced PCM for my GT3, but am now reconsidering. What are your thoughts - was it worth it?

If you use the car as an everyday driver and go to places you haven't been to before then the full Nav/Mobile comms set up is worth it.
Otherwise use a TomTom

I think it was worth it, yes. Once you've got used to the satnav's foibles it's great. Took me from Cheshire to my hotel at the 'Ring faultlessly, while re-routing automatically around delays. At first, I felt the TomTom was better, but now I'm a convert to this system. Very space-inefficient though, as you say.

I also use the chrono - absolute accuracy doesn't matter that much to me, it's just a useful indicator and fun to play with.

Here's the picture with that panel removed.
