There happen to be a lot of 997 owners who love the GT3 body work and are fitting the factory aerokit onto their cars now. FVD is taking it a step further by fitting the GT3 center exhaust and bumper on them as well. A powerkitted C2S or C2S cab would offer probably 99.x% of the GT3 performance on the street and be more comfortable for commuting or leisurely travel. IIRC the powerkitted C2S is even faster up to 60 mph or so than the GT3/RS. With that being the case Porsche will probably not dilute the GT3 with more amenities.

i dont want any more 'amenities' per say. i actually want to remove some. get rid of a/c, carpets, sound deadening, heavy muffler, power windows, seat backs, mirrors. im all for that.

i just want to add things that have NO EXTRA WEIGHT and CAN BE TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. cannot loose with this approach.

only issue is for the insecure people who think they have aryton senna talent and like to brag to their friends (most likely the on line variety) how 'extreme' their car is and how only 'skilled track drivers' like them can handle it.

I too would suggest you "chillax" as my son tells me.

You bought what is to date one of the best cars Porsche has ever offered. It is much more civilized than my 996GT3 and on the track is very formidable. Even with the street rubber and not pushing any buttons inside the car, you can have a blast with it on the track.

They suggested to you the turbo because like any auto company, Porsche offers many varieties of the 911 each with a particular purpose. It just sounds like your needs would be better met with a turbo. Family and occasional track use.

Now. . . how many times do I have to hear that everyone who likes to take their car to the track MUST have a cup car? I love them and one day hope to have one but NOT a requirement.
