To me it really matters. It was one of the very important components that allowed me to get the car under 2900lbs. The sunroof does not belong in a factory club racer and shame on porsche for shoving it down our throats so they could market the RS.

I was dissapointed but I knew at my level it didnt matter. Now after a month its unnoticable.
And if use it at dusk with windows open it allow you to hear the motor all that much better.
And what a sound!! It really is a non issue

Really? They must've redesigned something since my 997C2 was built in 2004...it buffets worse than any car I've driven. One of the side windows must be cracked to preserve one's eardrums.

Not to mention the thumps and rattles (open or closed) that the dealer only has short-term fixes for...

Sunroofs are abominations.

3 of my cars don't have sunroofs and loving every minute of it and my other car open it for ****s and giggles. It doesn't belong on a GT3. Mike

Trying being 6'2" with 32" inseam. In the 996 GT2, with Euro seats, I have less than an inch of clearance with helmet on.

But I am old school, and I think there is no place for a sunroof in a car like this.

Yeah, let's spend all that R&D to lighten up the car, then put some dead weight back in at the worst possible place.

But judging by all the sunroof praisers here, Porsche was right, their lack of respect for US buyers is well placed.

There does appear to be a difference in the way air is managed with the sunroof open in this car vs. my previous 911s with sunroofs (996 C2 and C4S) as they were intolerable with the roof open unless the windows were also down. My wife's Cayenne is also intolerable with the roof open alone. Although I would have taken the car without a sunroof given the choice, I have to admit I do sometimes enjoy having it open for the symphony out back. As I only get to the track 2- 4 times a year, I drive my car every day because, sunroof or not, there is no other car I would rather drive and any time in the seat is better than none.

Sunroofs are abominations? Low opinion of US buyers? You guys have clearly lowered your centers of gravity by allowing your brains to atrophy, for performance of course. Isn't the whole point of the GT3/RS to get more visceral feeling - to be more connected to the road environment? Some of my favorite driving experiences include driving a convertible Mustang (ugh!) thru the road to Hana, and my GT3 (with sunroof open!) thru the Alps outside of Mont Blanc. If I could, I would have driven with my head out the sunroof like a dog!

BTW if Porsche really despised us, we won't have the cheapest purchase prices in the world

Try being 6' 4.5" w/32" inseam and see where your head ends up. That's right, rubbing on the headliner.

Next car will not have a sunroof and will have the seats bolted to the floor. I need every .5" I can get.

I don't believe the GT cars should have a sunroof but if the option of sunroof delete was available I'd be ok with PCNA offering sunroofs.
