I agree with you, but I was told that an aftermarket halon extinguisher, such as the type sold by our good friend at the Sharkwerks do not meet Golden Gate Region PCA time trial specs because they are not rated 10-BC. I checked it out, and 10-BC extinguishers are sold in hardware stores. I have one on my boat.

But, apparently the Porsche factory extinguisher does pass tech with GGR PCA. So there might be some utility to using the factory one, if you are interested in running with GGR PCA.

I don't like an aftermarket part on a car like the RS. IMHO it spoils it. I've got a WERNER myself a week ago.

There is no option 509 (at least not on my RS order guide)?...

Pretty sure it is an option with the GT3, but not with the RS, in the US -- that is my recollection

I was unable to order the extinguisher or even the bracket to hold it from Porsche parts dept. Really suprised me.

there are much nicer options available from other suppliers including a list sponsor with fin and teeth.....
However, I suspect Robert Linton would produce the ultimate.

The Werner object has all the elan and practicality of Doc Martin ballet shoes
