Your very blessed to walk away so easily...the car on the other hand...

BTW I can't believe how calm (or was it shock) you are afterwards...

Thank goodness you're ok. The car did a fine job of protecting you.

Gatman,

Glad you are safe - Your baby can be replaced / fixed..
From the story Johnny posted that is a very tricky / rewarding turn.

I would enjoy seeing more pictures of your car - It did appear to protect you nicely.
How do you feel now? Take it easy.

Not only are you OK, you're sensible enough to realise that that's the really important thing AND you have the bottle (as we say here - the guts, courage, *****, whatever) to post about it for us all to see and maybe learn from.

Full marks to you, Gatman, and we all hope the nightmare ends for you very soon.

The body shop that repaired my car said that modern Porsche's are some of the safest cars on the road in his opinion. He was mentioning that some guy went airborne on public streets at 100mph and hit a wall and all the occupents walked away.

Gatman,

I have been watching your video over and over. Did you remember hitting the rumble strip going into the right hand turn? To me it looked as if you apex'd a little early and got a tire on the strip as you were pinching the turn. It appears the strip unsettled the car for an instant and you lifted. If you listen to the video the throttle is down right as you meet the strip and the car then is unweighted on the rears as you 1)are starting to crest the hill 2)are still at max cornering 3)suspension still rebounding from the strip. I think it was the combo of all three that led to your spin. You did a great job keeping the car as straight as possible.

I don't remember what happened>> total amnesia
but a clue >> the left front tire is flat !
is it a puncture because I ran to hard on the first left rumble strip ?
I'm not sure the tire is flat after the crash in the tires .... just supposition
it's terrible because I NEED to understand what happened, I ran before at the same place and in the same way ....

thanks all for your support !
the car is still in Belgium, I can't wait to see her...

It does look like you pinched the right hander part. You turned it too early and either lifted or had too much steering input when you should have started unwinding. Also attacking the rumble strip early on could have added to the problem.

That is a very tricky corner and terrible results happen from very subtle mistakes.

It is pretty easy to see if the accident caused the flat. Such a violent hit will leave plenty of marks on the wheel/tire.
