Sport button
I know, I know... even I'm rolling my eyes at the thought of this topic once again, especially as I really ought to know the answer.
Is this all it does..?
1. Fills in some of the lower range of the torque curve
2. Slackens the TC threshold a little
3. Bypasses the secondary silencers at all revs
Does it also sharpen the throttle response, or 'move' the throttle actuation curve a little?

That is about right. I believe you actually get 18 ft lb torque more at some rpm. The suspension is changed with a different button I believe. As for throttle; that is what it does on lesser 997's, not sure about the GT3.

Three Wheelin'
does disabling the sport wire(as mentioned on other threads) have any negative effect on the above mentioned functions? I disconnected it and it sounds great the whole way through the RPM range, yet I wonder if I am causing some unseen issues by doing so...
anyone with ideas on this???

Burning Brakes
While I haven't been able to drive my GT3 yet, I can at least speak about what it did on my 997 C2S.
Hitting the SPORT button would also activate the SPORT setting on PASM, but that could be turned off.
The SPORT button would:
1) Activate the bypass on the exhaust, which could be heard at idle. The noise restriction of closing the bypass under hard throttle up to about 50 mph was still activated, but you could certainly tell when the bypass was released at 50.
2) Would shift the throttle sensitivity curve. Where as before 15% throttle would get 15% gas, now 15% throttle would get 35-40% gas. (much more sensitive)
3) Would reign PSM back a notch.

I pulled the connector on my C2S and didn't have any issues. It just disconnects the bypass.
Only reason we have it is for Euro noise restrictions below 50 kph.

Thanks, BG.
Frustratingly, that linked document seems to imply improved throttle response, but doesn't actually come right out and say it.
I guess the 'basic functions same as current 911 generation' is as good as I'll get on that one.

Also, what is the consensus on the use of the sport button?
Do you always turn it on every time you start the car? Do you turn it on once in a while? Just curious what people other are doing.
