Default ORDER STATUS: ONVESL

Another dealer called and someone backed out from a 07 GT3. So it's mine and due in port at the end of month.

I also have an 08 allocation that has spec'd out for Dec build but the order can still be fully modified up to Sept.

Question is should I keep this one, enjoy life, and transfer my 08 allocation or sell the 07 (which is missing some options that I want) and wait for my 08 (which really has the options I want)?

If you are spending this kind of money, I'd want a car that is exactly as I want it. I'd only compromise options if there was no ability to order to spec.

Let me add to the above...

Here's the options I wanted...Xenon, leather steering wheel, Porsche crest in head rest (the other options can be added after the fact such as black wheels, FE, mats). But these are just options and I can live w/o them. They add up to be the same as the full leather as in the 07.

I'm still torn between yellow or black. The 07 is black, the 08 is currently yellow, but can be changed. I'll wait to see the black in person to decide.

Strange...no sooner after I posted this, another dealer called me and offered me $10K over MSRP???? Basically put my car on consignment for MSRP + $10K. Is the market that hot where a dealer will pay above MSRP to resell and still make money?

i think the offering dealer is off the mark.
for 20-30k over, you can get RS if you know where to look.
so if a dealer buys from you at 10k over for a non RS GT3, he has to sell 20k over to make it worthwhile, i think. personally i dont see 20k premium on a non RS.

My dealer said they just sold a used 997 GT3, less than 2000 miles, $20k over MSRP for the same car which sold new, 3 months earlier. Go figure.

I really doubt you'll get that 08 at MSRP.

Bird in the hand and all that... (too bad it doesn't have xenons!)

People are trying to sell the GT3's for well over sticker now, especially with the low 08 allocations

I would take the 07 but I only would track the car and wouldn't need any options. Maybe the best thing to assure you get a car is to take the 07 and then when the 08 comes in, decide and sell whichever one you don't want. With the market the way it is, you shouldn't have any difficulty selling the used 07.

personally I'd keep the 08 build, build it exactly as you wanted.

The dealer for my 08 is the same as the 07 that I'm getting end of this month for MSRP. He guarrantees me it'll also be MSRP. Some dealers just don't mark up (few and rare) and have stated that it's their policy.
