It does seem like Porsche has lost the ability to offer PCCBs at least on some models. Perhaps just as a matter of the standard issue item on the GT2, they need those rotors to build the $180K+ car and the humble $110K car be damned.
Of course it could be a reliability issue. Or a design problem. It could be that Ferrari charges twice as much for ceramic rotors and Porsche lost an OEM. Anything. Could be anything.
As for "popular" that's in the lower half of likely explanations, after all, if they plan on selling something, they should be able to plan more than a few months in advance for inventory management, let alone spares. Then again, we are talking about Porsche ... : |
