Yes the AMT is broadening its reach and as more members of the productive class feel its wrath the politicians may be finally forced to kill this ridiculous wealth transfer system.
If you want less of something tax it, if you want more of something subsidize it!

Nut, even w/3k miles you ought to be able to get within shouting distance of msrp...
check this one> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...QQcmdZViewItem

wow Virginia has gone soviet on that car tax!.. most other states the auto dealers' lobby at least can ply state legislatures into allowing trade-in/tax credit. I should be thankful I paid 6% sales tx on my 997S in boring old Ohio, annual renewal just $50.

It's just hidden in one bill in CA. About $60 is the actual registration fee, the other several hundred dollars is the value/property tax.

I see prices over sticker right now on new ones and even on slightly used ones.
I was hoping to get sticker price. Is that reasonable or "Rennlist acceptable"?
Of course I lose the money I paid in tax and I also put the clear paint protection film on it (approx. $1000). If Virginia had the tax credit for trades I would surely trade it. Come to think of it, I may ask my dealer what he would give me anyway because he indicated when I bought it something about being able to trade it for hardly any loss or even sell it for a profit or something to that effect.
I am only selling because I have an RS coming.
(My RS is a July build with PCCB. I hope it is not delayed because of the PCCB's!)
My dealer in Hilton Head got 10 over for a GT3 with 1200 miles on it. A guy from Jersey bought it and drove it home....called the dealer back when he got home and said it was best times in a car he had ever had. Hope that helps.

damn, i thought for once we californian's would get lucky.
but iirc, it's not 3300 like leif mentioned? i think on 996gt3 (110k car) was less than 1500? or maybe i am dreaming again.
