Has anyone installed 996 GT3 Sport Seats in their 997 GT3 and been able to find a solution for the airbag light coming on?

I'm considering installing the'07 RS seats to avoid the issue but at their current price the 996 sport seats are looking really attractive :-)

 

The dealer can turn off the airbag light.

I would avoid putting anything 996 into the 997, different generations ya know.

 

mdepaoli - I am having them installed (996GT3 seats) in my 997 RS right now. They fit perfectly. You dealer (and some independent) shops can tell the computer to ignore the missing air bags. Note the 997 GT3 seats do not have the side airbags either in spite of costing a stupid amount of money.

I have them and they look great. Dealer turned of the airbag warning.

 

Program car to ignore seat belt latches, thorax airbags and AWS.
• From the main PIWIS menu
• Select POSIP
• Select CODING
• Scroll down the list to find entries for driver and passenger thorax airbags and turn them to off/no.
• Scroll down to find entries for AWS and driver and passenger seat belt buckles. Turn all three of those off as well.
• Save settings in the PIWIS
