Default Why isn't anyone gloating about M/T?

This months Motor Trend does a comparo of the 10 best handling cars. The GT3 wins and the Cayman does very well. While I think the comparisons in M/T have little merit I'm surprised that it hasn't even been mentioned in this volume.

The Z06 ranked 9 out of 10 behind a Mazda 3 and some other FWD cars. The Z was ranked ahead of a Civic S though. Needless to say, it's generated some noise on the Corvette board.

I think M/T has little currency and based on no reaction on this board it seems like most 997GT3 owners do too. Still, it seems like it should have generated some reaction.

Owners don't buy GT3s on "other what people (MT included) say or are buying". These are enthusists not people based on numbers. Even though I dont' own this particular model, I know. I owned a 07 997S, and all I heard about was how some cheap a** Z06 could beat it.

That's a good thing and I couldn't agree with you more.

I don't think Motor Trend earns credence as a review source. They sell magazines as one in a collection of advertising rags, stuffed into supermarket shelves as impulse purchases for the photograph of the popular selling car of the day, with content trip trapping out of unknown fingers on the keyboards of laptops on kitchen tables in the houses of freelance contributors around the globe.

It's nice to see Porsche products getting mainstream advertising media attention, outside the home ground of Excellence etc., but other than that, unless Evo or one of the far, far more able and better capable sources is speaking on the topic, it's hardly of any importance.

Numerous people here contribute far more useful, meaningful and credible information on the topic.

And as is customary, let me misquote, "Read on, Macduff."

Haven't read it but hard to get excited about reviews like this. This board has handling knowledge way beyond what MT can hope to amass. Even though we have a bunch of bickering ninnies. LOL.

all the above comments are credible...as M/T is not...some of the criticisms of the test by the members of the Plastic Brigade are well founded...testing the ZO6 on run flats is not a fair comparison....I myself, am offended by the road rating of the GT3...how else are you to tell if you have a loose filling

That's an entertaining read. I'll send it to my Bow-tie buddy in Reno, He just loves those wedge-head pushrod throwbacks to the 50's.

I would guess that it hasn't been mentioned here because no one here reads Motor Trend. It's a bird cage rag.

Why bother gloating when you know that you have the best.

This one's pretty good too:

This is the most blatant use of fraudulent propaganda since Garbles of **** Germany.
