Default Data logger and rpm connection

Has anybody installed a data logger with connection to rpms for shift lights? And if so, where do you find the lead wire to connect to?

I just happen to use the G2X system.

Thank you all.

I've got the G2xtreme also. It's a bitch to get the RPM signal!!!! On a 996 you could connect thru the OBD. On the 997 it's all CAN bus, so no easy way. I got the rpm sensor pickup from racepack, but it doesn't really work well. You have to run it to one of the plug wires (i'm using the one one the passenger side). Just remove the rear wheel, then 2 torx bolts which hold the cover on, and tap into one of the wires. Unfortunately I'm getting interference and it only picks it up intermittently. I tried insulating it from the other wires using foil and tape. It helped a bit, but still suck...not consistent. If you figure out a better way that works let me know.
