997 GT3 - Check engine light
Guys,
997 GT3 1300 miles, got the yellow light "check engine, visit workshop", called the dealer and scheduled a service appointment, service dept. said it might be because of the low emissions?, next day the light went away, called the dealer and said not to worry about it and called them if it happened again.
Has this happened to any of you?
Should I take the car to the dealer anyways?
BTW, with 1300 miles should I change the oil now?
Thanks.

if you have some time go to the dealer and let them read if there are any faults logged. it will give you a paece of mind and have a record of the problem if it ever happens again.

Have it logged. May be nothing, or may be serious. I've had both. Different times; same light. You will rarely get hurt if you treat it as serious and are pleasantly surprised by the data logger. Now, the spoiler malfunction light on my turbo... That I ignore.

Mind you I think the ECUs are made in Germany... I've always pictured a german dude on a Friday afternoon after a Becks saying "zis one we send to italy"
