Agreed. Perhaps it will look more fitting if the driver is also equipped with the requisite "tasteful male body jewelry", like they sell at the Ferrari stores (evidently)Ray

that's really cr*p...

compare how busy and unresolved the rear end of the 997 looks, compared to its predecessor. now knowing porsche, all those slats are probably there for a reason. but i've always believe that form follows function, and if something is designed right, it also looks good... oh well...

and the 996:

yech, i'm with eclou. the odd winglike LED lights at the front I can get over, but the fishscales look terrible.

That's gotta be a Turbo S, the "covered" script on the back is too long to say "GT2"

Its got the front air pass through in the front clip so I'd guess GT2.

Nope... look at the roll bar in the car.... seems to me like genuine article, as ugly as the rear may be. This thing will be mean.

I'm not sure if the rear "gills" are final. Some other spyshots:

just horrible. Porsche has really lost it in the design department. That's the kind of design that looks new and interesting for about a year, and then people will just see if for what it is, ugly. Can you imagine 20 years from now, a "classic" 997GT2? I think not.

Must be a GT2, looks like no sunroof. Well at least it's a ROW GT2 then...

The whole exhaust tip through the bumper cover looks like crap. Seems like they tried to copy the idea from the 360, at least that's the first place I can think of that I saw that style. The GT3 exhaust in the middle looks so much cleaner.

The fish gill thing can't posssible be the finally revision??? At least the wheels look much better than the Turbo...

The article claims that this is unobfuscated version of the car and that it will debut during Frankfurt 2007 car show.

the covered up writing on the back actually says -

Hello my name is Winston, welcome to Jamaica and have a nice day

as its a bit cold, its all shrivelled up and quite short

I'm sure once the car will be complete it will looks great. I remember some old spyshots from Cayman and Turbo, the cars didn't look good at all but once they went in production they got all cleaned up stickers taken off and so on......and now just look at them...Brilliant!
