Those coming out of 996 GT3s or 2s

New car is much more like 996 GT2 than 996 GT3 in terms of front spoiler preservation. But worse.
Was able to go thousands of miles in two 996 GT3s with zero damage and did very nearly as well in 996 GT2s, but scraped one corner of the 997 GT3 press car's lip coming out of the same driveway for the first time with exactly the same care...
Was able to prevent any "topside" damage to the lip during my time with the car, but I did scrape the lower edge several times before I figured out a way out of my drive in two (new) stages.
I think if I owned a 996 GT2 or 997 GT3, it'd be a monthly (or every other month) wear item. I like the badge of honor comment, sorta how I feel about rock chips.
"Squarer" front bumper on the 997 GT3 pushes the spolier out at the edges, just as 996 GT2 did. This plus longer nose makes it a tougher thing to get in and out of driveways.
Also will "skitch" slightly at high speed on Highway 1 in just the right situation, something I never experienced in 996 GT3s.
Good thing it's cheap and easily replaced...
