Thumbs up Keeps getting better

I picked up my car on the 26th of December. I have now driven about 2050 miles. The car just keeps getting better. The engine is smoother now than it started out. It pulls so eaisly. The ride was stiff when I first got it, but now it does not feel stiff at all, just great. This is without a doubt the best driving car I have ever owned. I can not imagine trading this in for any other car in its price range. It is simply the best. Do you guys feel the same. IE; That it just keeps getting better and better.

I totally agree, and that is with only 900 miles. I'll never get rid of this car, and that will be a first for me. I mean, how do you top it?

Have you disconnected the exhaust flapper valve? Gives great sound all the time.

I agree as well! I picked up my car the 20th of Dec and now have 3560 miles on it. Can't get enough of it. Just put on 328 miles yeasterday and today. All on back roads from Sea Ranch to Santa Rosa. It's 60 miles to the first stop light!! By far the best Porsche I have ever owned!

i ran up and down piuma today in the mountains, the turn in is so much better, mechanical grip larger, stability, grace in the corners, so tidy.... everything is improved. truly an great sports car.

still lacks the gt2 excess power feel, but you don't really need it when you "mature"

I am not very mechanical. How do you do that. I always have to punch the sport button every time I start the car. Does it sound like that or better if you disconnect the exhaust flapper valve.

Disconnect is very easy, takes 30 seconds. Just unplug one connector in the engine bay. Do a search on 997 board, it's been covered many many times, with pictures. There is a five page thread there now entitles PSE modders, last dated 3/2/07 with more info than you need.

Even with the sport button on, the valve still kicks in in the 20-35 mph speed range, to comply with European noise laws. For me, thats an important speed range around town.

Thanks but checked out thread:

No photos or detail re how you actually disconnect?

Searched under PSE modders but only above thread.

Far right side, in the middle, behind the two rubber hoses.

Thanks, have found plug.

Does disconnecting invalidate warranty/insurance?
