Default 996 GT# seats and airbag light

I was just told that there is a problem in installing 996 GT3 seats in 997s, including the GT3. There is a required sensor in 2007 cars which cancels the passenger side airbag if there is not enough weight on the seat. That sensor is built into the frame of the stock seat and cannot easily be transferred to the GT3 seat. This leads to the airbag light being on and no airbag actuation if needed. Has anyone addressed this issue?

Obviously, should refer to GT3 seats.

Right, but as far as I know, there's no conclusive answer whether disabling the passenger-side weight sensor affects airbag detonation. I run 996 GT3 seats in my 997, no warning lights.

There is a previous post about the sequence used to disable the thorax (side) airbags in the stock factory seats and to silence the seat-belt alarm buzzer if you want to do that, too -- I had the dealer deactivate both when I put 996 GT3 Clubsport seats in my Cayman S.
