niche market behavior, particularly buyer psychology in the form of the "time value of desire" explain some of the phenomenon we observe with hi-end / hi-perf consumer goods - esp where the product is so closely coupled to personal self-image and pleasure. PAG / PCNA seems to be appropriately sensitive to NOT flood the market with spl products, quickly overwhelming demand. lets not overlook that customers seek the exclusivity experience, residual value stability must be respected (esp since so many cars are leased), and owners want low depreciation too.

I'm not complaining.
Who is complaining?

I don't know. If they stick to less than 300 units, the RS will be quite collectible in the future.

That's what i am hoping for. We've already seen people on here giving up their allocation b/c of the lack of value in an RS. Building an 08 RS won't change that.
Therefore I highky doubt Porsche will build 08 RS's - especially when the factory changes over in August for the facelift.
So the RS might be the most valuable Porsche in a looong time.

value? did i read somewhere above a word resembling "value"??? if you want value, you are barking up the wrong brand.

back to topic. if you get a non RS with min. option at $108k, the GT3 is probably the single biggest bargain in automobiles today all things considered. if you move to RS, then your sanity need to be questioned (like me). but i dont think most RS buyers are buying it for "value".

i for one buy it for the "decals" LOL.

"...the GT3 is probably the single biggest bargain in automobiles today all things considered."
reads like a definition of value to me, but maybe it depends upon one's values.

Of course these discussions could go on endlessly. I wouldn't put much stock in what dealers say. The people who know the answer aren't talking.

Not really. Our friend Moogle has also cancelled his RS order and possibly his purchase for the 2006 Carrera GT.
