They only imported 300 GT2's to the U.S.

I kind of see your point but my reasons for why 996 GT2 prices "free fall" are that 1 - they were introduced to the market too late, 2 - the price was too close to other more exotics, and 3 - there is no Porsche-prestige that of the "RS".

What do you mean by "too late"? They were out in 2001 as a 2002 model, right?

I think you are right. They did start the production i '02! Okay, there are 2 more things I think why the market for the RS will be different compare to the GT2 (Type 996).

I think the GT2 has a lot of heritage in racing, maybe not to the level of the RS, but if you ever watched a 993 GT2 in IMSA you might agree.


I do agree with you on the price, if you could get one at MSRP the Challenge Stradale would be my choice.
