GT3 Vs Audi R8?

I think the Z8 issue is a complete red herring. It had retro design elements, a bullish powerplant, and delivers and old school driving experience.
The R8 is uber modern, and will not stand the test of time like the Z8. And, while the Z8 was unique, the R8 is not (in light of its not so unique Lambo heritage) but will always suffer from Lambo envy.
No reason to think that this car will not take a beating come resale like every other audi, and will underperform relative to similarly priced pcars. IMO, if you must have one, lease it. Otherwise, get the lambo as already pointed out by eclou.

Not sure if this has been posted before:

I think the result might have been different if they used a C4S instead and it's still cheaper. Come to think of it, for $120k, I would just get a 997 Turbo. Of course I am biased

Yeah, well these are the same douch*bags that lined up three cars against the 911 and made a big point of what they do better.
Further, they apparently loved the styling.
All the fawning over it, I can't say that it seems like an objective comparison. Finally, although they took them to the track, I don't see track times. From the tenor of the article, if the Audi was better I'm sure they would have told us.
Suspect journalism IMO
