Default GT3 and RS wing ... the same engine cover?

I have been studying some pictures of the RS and GT3 wing area and I
*think* that again like the 996 GT3 and RS that the wings *will* be
interchangable!

anyone any thoughts ... gotta love that RS wing!

They are different and not interchangable.

Larry, you'd have to change the lid AND wing.

They're quite different, but a simple bracket on the GT3 engine lid uprights would suffice to bolt on the GT3 foil without looking odd.

I'm looking for a sensibly priced generic CF rear wing. I saw a generic wing on a Z06 that could have bolted directly to the 997 GT3 with a couple of aluminum L brackets, but the owner didn't know what it was (who'd a thunk a 'vette owner wouldn't know how to find his own **** without a mirror, a map and team of Sherpas?)

Default you sure?

you guys 'certain' I was looking at some pictures in 'Purely Porsche' of the RS ...

there is one picture showing the rear of the car ... if you look closely you can see
the mounting bolts for the wing ... they look suspiciously like the same place the
GT3 wing would mount ...

the definitive answer (apart from comparing them side by side) would be
different part #'s for both deck lids!

Here's the PET for the GT3 rear wing (I don't have the RS handy.) If you look at some RS pics, you'll see the foil is different. Not that it wouldn't work, but it won't be a bolt-on, it will require some fabrication -- however simple -- to make brackets.
Perhaps somebody with an RS can look at (and post pics) of the wing to see if it would work. Perhaps the deck lid is shared, etc.

These two pics suggest it could be a shared deck lid with only minor differences like the lip on the deck lid tail.

the intriguing aspect of this are that pair of allan bolts on the inside of the RS deck lid ...

I guess actually when I think about it ... despite their presence the difference is clear:

on the GT3, the wing bolts between the uprights! just as they did on the MK1 car ... with L
brackets onto those allan bolts on the inside of the uprights ...

On the 996 GT3 and RS the wing sat on top of the uprights and was a bolt on replacement

My guess is that in fact the deck lids *are* identical except for the fact that on the RS the
'top' of the uprights is 'drilled' to allow the wing (which I will bet is the same 996 part with
different end winflets) to be attached via the same bolts that the GT3 wing would sit on ...

MY $%0.02 ...
