what defines tracked regularly?
a car that sees 10 track days basically will not see much wear and tear.
a car that sees 30+ days needs a LOT of maintenance. ask how i know.
the cost is not straighline, but exponential.

I think the question (poll) was to see the split of "trophy" RSs vs "track toy" not operating costs. So far, I'm seeing the 5mm of new tread depth disappear about 1mm per track day (with mostly easy driving at the track.) It's down to 2mm and barely 1000 miles. I'm optimistic to get the next two days in on the factory tyres.

(ps. When you post a new topic, there's the option "Post a Poll" towards the bottom of the page ... just set the number of options and the next page will allow you to set up the options text.)

Thanks for the info. Re "tread disappearance", it's what I suspected...one would need to "save" the MPSCs for track and use another set of wheels/tires for street usage.

adam, i know that.
my point is what is a track toy. if one puts the car on track 5 days a year, it is NOT a track toy. as far as i am conerned that's garage queen. if you put 20 days on it for year, then it BEGINS to act like a wanna be track toy. if you are insane like me, then you have a real track toy. if you are rich in a cup car..... well what can i say.
