Insurance for an RS?

Insurance for an RS?
I have tried Geico, USAA, Hagerty, EICI, JC Taylor, and Grundy. All have turned me down for various reasons that have nothing to do with risk. I.E. tickets or accidents, of which I have none. Is there something I need to know?

Did you try just stating that it is a Porsche 911 or 911GT3 instead of RS? Being a car that has NEVER been in the system that might be the problem. My cars are insured with USAA and when I called to get the car added I stated it was a GT3 and it was added immediately. Funny thing is that a GT3 does not show up as a GT3 in the system but rather a generic vague descriptive label.
Not until you have a VIN would it be a binding quote anyway.

The Rs has been in state Farms system for over a month. I don't remember what I was quoted, but it seems it was about $300 a year more than my 2004 GT3 (which they totaled). That would make it about $1,700 or $1,800.

I have AAA and AllState -- both had both GT3 and RS at basically the same premium.
I've been meaning to go to the Web based agents like progressive and see what happens.

I'm 36, married, own a home in a upper class neighborhood, cars are garaged, have no accidents or tickets EVER (knock on wood) and I pay about $1,600 a year for my 02 C4S and about the same for my 2005 Audi S4. My wifes 05 G35 is about $1,200 a year and she has no accidents or tickets either.
New Jersey sucks for car insurance.

As for the NJ insurance. You should check out the insurance in Clark county (Las Vegas). Same boat. I paid TWICE what I pay now when I lived there. Some of the worst driving in the world. Bunch of transplants from all over bringing regional specific crappy driving. That is a recipe for dangerous roads. Oh yeah, and don't forget the round the clock dodging of drunk drivers.
