Default GT3 Ride Height

Does anyone here know the ride height adjustment range for the 997 GT3? The reason I am asking is that I am wondering if it is possible (or advisable) to slightly raise the ride height – and by how much – in order to minimize damage to the front spoiler. A post on another forum suggests that there may be supply problems with replacement spoilers and I would like to avoid having to buy one per week. I will mainly be using the car for spirited road travel. Many thanks.

yes it can be raised - it looks like there is about 1" of thread on the coilover

as long as you do not have to enter single width entraces then using a large angle of attack (and driving slowly) has allowed me for 3 weeks to drive about town without problems

that said, if there are speed bumps in your area, 1" could likely make a huge difference

Excellent news. Thank you. I will mainly be driving on country roads and should be able to master the "teter" for most situations. No speed bumps in these parts.

There is a spec for ride height in the service data. Raising it as much as possible really will not have any benefit in keeping that $100 chin spoiler free of scrapes, but you'll be screwing up the handling of the $100K+ car. Forget it. Get the car set for proper ride height, get it corner balanced and get the alignment dialed in. It makes the world of difference. And use the updated factory tire pressures.

Ok...puzzled.

Why would "raising it (the height) as much as possible not have any benefit in keeping the $100 chin spolier free of scrapes"...?

It's still gonna scrape even if you raise the height.

Just consider this a maintenance item.

Yikes! Why would you want to screw with the setup by raising the ride height vs. just removing or living with a scrapped up replaceable part?

Raising the ride height is crazy! You must be testing us. Adjust your use and driving habits to fit the fine sports car you have. This is the analogous to changes drivers make make when towing a trailer or driving a commercial truck. You just cannot go everywhere.
