Put me on the waiting list for your car, once you decide to change to another color. Coming from you, I could buy it regardless of the mileage.

I think the depreciation of the 997 GT3 RS will depend on the 997 GT3. There are not a lot of differences between the 2 cars to keep the RS much higher than the normal 997 GT3

Gary, no offense taken

I appreciate the feedback if done in a proper way (as yours was). However, my point was nothing more than to say regardless of what the car is worth I absolutely love it and get pleasure out of every drive I take in it, be it at the track or around the block. Of course the car will never be worth $1 but I was just making a point. I didn't buy this car ever with a thought (now will I) that has we thinking about depreciation or miles logged. That is what my leased 12K miles/yr Cayenne is for

The yellow stripes. I just saw another post and it looks like they are real. Curious where he got something like that. I really like the MkII GTSRS foils and thought in black with on GT3 would look cool on my SY. But then again, I would probably not do it since I would want the matching black wheels, CF mirrors, and CF RS Wing

Can't argue with that, it's a fantastic machine. I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute in it! What a great time to be an enthusiast...

They're on the car, there were a gift from a friend that just started a vinyl business. Yellow, to match calipers and seat belts. The car made it to the 2007 SCCA Calendar, and it came in third place at a Concours back in September.

Black stripes on a yellow car with black wheels should look amazing.

Very cool! Did you think about the ones fore and aft of the wheels as well like on the RS?

The RS will likely depreciate similarly to the '94 964 3.6 Turbo, of which there are 466 in North America. These cars are worth 50-60% of their original sticker some 12 years later. So I would expect the RS value to drop ~15% at the end of the first 2 years, then a ~3-4% drop per year after.

This is a problem that will have to have a starting point for the car to depreciate. If 229 cars were sold and 190 of them were sold for 32K over than the average sale price will be higher to start with. I do not know about the 964 Turbo. This is a strange car for a strange reason. The reason of this car is the RSR not the clients that will buy it.

Looks fantastic NJ.. the Carrera sport wheels look dynamite on the car too with the GT3 suspension height!
would love to see a front or rear 3/4 angle pic if you've got any.

Jim,

I agree with you. If the majority of the 229 cars for sale actually SELL for $160K US and not the MSRP then even IF the RS depreciates to the same percentage as a GT3 or any other car, it will still be worth more than all the rest b/c the starting point (ie selling point) was that much higher.
So basically anyone buying the car at MSRP (me included) will be very lucky.
