Default What's that brown stuff on the engine bottom

that is sprayed on the GT3 and other engines? Does it have a purpose?

cosmoline is my guess. put on their to protect underbody during shipment overseas. not harmful, just doesn't look all that great. can be cleaned off if you are really wanting to torture yourself for a weekend.

I wonder if PAG still spray the car with cosmoline if the buyer request to ship via air freight?

Air freight will cost a lot more than the PCCB option, must be nice to have the coin!!!

I wouldn't mind about it too much, it's there for protection so leaving it gives you little more protection.

And yes, it's PITA to clean, I cleaned some of it of off my car while ago and it wasn't easy.

Citrus degreaser can help, assuming repeated applications. I've used it to clean the suspension of my car and to remove the cosmoline in these areas.
