MJSpeed said it well and also the guy who started the thread has a GT3 not an RS.

To Cabcar:

Check out the other thread for Sharkster. He is offering a nice package for reasonnable price. As for other mods, Mooty MJSpeed and others are alot more connaisseur on your particular car.

I understand the rollbar situation now, but the fire extinguisher? If it's not standard and not on the option sheet, are they saying you can get one in the GT3 (it's on the option sheet) but not in the RS (not on the option sheet, and comes up "non valid option" in the computer at the dealer)? That just doesn't make sense.

My dealer is calling Porsche NA to get the scoop. It's got to be standard.

What about the lack of the ROW battery kill switch for the RS?

There can't possibly be a National Highway Safety Regulatory issue preventing US cars from having one, can there?

i am sure you can buy it as accesory from dealer. but i really prefer safecraft bottles and b&k bracket in front of passenger seat. god forbids, if you ever need to use it, the set up i describe, you reach over, pull a pin, you have to bottle in your hand. pull another pin off the trigger on the bottle, spray away.

the oem one (the small one) i saw in person is held in place under driver's seat with a belt of somesort. i think it's much harder to use when **** hits the fans.

I am thinking about a DAS bar, 996 type seats and maybe Teamtech harnesses. I do not know if the 996 seat hardware will fit the 997 tracks. Your thoughts?

straight bolt in, no mods needed.

then have dealer turn off airbag warning light on dash and ctr console (your 996 gt3 seats doesn't have the thorax airbag that the standard 997gt3 seat has, so the warning light will come up.)

Default 2007 GT3

I have installed the following in my 2007 GT3:
997 Tequipment roll bar
996 GT3 seats leather with the anti sub brace (recaro)
Tequipment (Porsche) Schroth 6 point harnesses
(note, if you use HANS device order the correct harness set)
Brey Kraus bracket for passenger seat with BK quick release FE bracket.
Castrol Hi Temp fluid
Performance alignment with corner balancing
Car looks and runs great!
Waiting on the 997 GT3 Club sport seats... and waiting... and waiting.

I thought that the American cars did not have: rollbar, plexi window, fire ext, and CGT seats. I plan to install the front and rear cage and the CGT seats.

Jim, if this is not going to be a dedicated track car; I would not go w/ the front cage as it may become a potential hazard ( head injury w/o a helmet) and might not be legal. and if it is going to be a dedicated track car; it is not too late to strip out most if not all of the weight added options you have listed previously.

Well I live close to Mid-Ohio and will go to the track as much as I can. I will drive it on the street sometimes. This is my fun car. I have ordered some Fiske type 13 race black wheels. First I want to get a track setup done on the car.
