also big news on the ferrari front.

"as the gt3 rs has no rear seats, a thin polycarbonate rear glass, a special carbon fiber rear engine lid, and a lighter single-mass flywheel, we imagine the north american gt3 rs weighs a bit less than the quoted 3031 pound curb weight"

first batch is 700 units w/ a healthy portion coming to the u.s.
makes me think we will see more than the 229 currently being touted.
i would think out of a batch of 700 we would see at least 300.
this also lends credence to the rumors that a little over 300 total units are heading this way and there will be another small allocation round.

bottom picture just looks like a really nice drive

dood, 229 is a healthy batch of the 700. There are a few other developed nations around the globe that like porsches.

dont worry about number of production
if you really DROVE the car, you will hav 30k miles in one year like i do.
so by end of year 3, your car would be worthless even if it was one of a kind.
ENJOY the ride.

I agree with you Jeff, but my only counterpoint would be that Porsche has a good read on the world "RS" market (964/993/996/etc.) and has yet to test the US market. If this first production run is a success in the US, then I would bet that they will make as many as they can sell... Like it or not, that is a good business decision for Porsche. (Personally, I would prefer the exclusivity of such a special new product.)

My $0.02.

I was informed today that the total production is 400 and the 229 to the US is correct ...my August delivery will still be considered an '07
