it will be hard to find an open RS spot now.
perhaps secure a GT3 for the moment.
i drove a GT3 today, it's quite a car. you should sell your Gt3 now and wait for a 997.

Same here - I made the switch to the GT3 (in white with no extra cost) for a May delivery.

Take mooty's advice...either switch to a 997GT3 or wait until one goes for sale in the pre-owned market...finding an open allocation is like finding an untapped oil reserve!

Jeff calm down. It isn't meant as a comment that has anything to do with you. I was on the phone last night with a car broker friend in Houston who told me that one of his contacts (not sure if it's a dealer or another broker) has two at $25K over. He wants one personally, but had told the guy that he wouldn't pay more than $10K over.

the broker is trying to reduce his own damage. maybe by getting $25k over he'll get another for sticker.

I talked with the General Manager at the Porsche dealer in Chicago as I am having problems with my local dealer on my GT3 RS and Porsche advised me that they have three allocations. My dealer is playing the we need to add a fair market value game with me now that I can actually order one.

You will love this,

The Chicago dealer said they are taking names and emails for the present. When a car comes in, they will contact everyone and the auction/ bidding will start at $ 40K over a loaded up MSRP car. He said that they fully expect to get $ 60K over their MSRP at auction. I apologized for wasting his time.

Outstanding...just un-F 'ing believable....I'm going to e-mail these guys just to let them know what type of A-holes they are....anyone care to join me? does anyone have an e-mail address for these ******?

edit: just sent them a nice "how do you do?" via their website customer interest form.....boycotts are indicated for dealers that do this type of thing; there are many to go to that do not employ such practices

this is nuts. chicago is not a big car city. FL and CA are the hot beds. and even here in SF most dealer are not so outrageous as to have BIDDING wars for the car. do they not rmember what went down with CGT. do they not know most pcar buyers will be repeat customers as we buy one after another? this is awfully short sighte. sure they can screw me ONCE, but they lose on the 20 other cars i may be buying from now to the day i can't drive anymore... how do these morons stay in business?
