It doesn't mention the thicker wheel either, but it has one!

What's your guess their?, or more importantly, why are you trying to second guess the PCNA statement that the car has a CF hood?

Hope your right, CF hood would be great. i am just reading dealer order guide. Mentions GT3 steering wheel. Have a copy of order guide, have not seen PCNA announcement and my dealer is not aware of it?
Have a copy you could post?

But it says standard GT3 wheel , not thicker, even though it is thicker than standard 997 wheel.

Sorry can't post copy of the letter.

However, your Dealer should have it.

If you notice the UK price for a GT3 is 79540 pounds including VAT 17.5% which converts to $130K + taxes at todays exchange rate.

Also on the German site the GT3 is 90790 Euros before taxes 16%...making $121,100 USD so you guys get a price break over the European pricing.

Us Canadians on the other hand get it where the sun don't shine and I don't mean Vancouver.

Canadian MSRP for the GT3 is $147,300cdn and $171,200cdn for the RS, when converted we have to pay a 21.5% premium over you US guys.

The German price of Euro 129659 includes 16% VAT, subtracting this and converting to dollars = $146,096.00.

Funny how these things work.

If'n you want taxes go to Denmark where my relatives tell me they pay a motor vehicle VAT of 180% which forms the basis number to which their 25% Moms tax is applied. Ouch, no wonder I don't see many Porsches there.

Hey Cupcar I just rechecked and the German price shown is 108083 Euros INCL 16% VAT making it $121,104.00 USD before taxes This is the GT3 I'm using for comparison as no RS is shown in the Build your own section.

I used the GT3 RS price which is listed on the German Porsche website. I figured the price without tax to be Euro 111,775 and used a currency calculator to come up with the price in dollars at todays rate for an RS in Gemany.

Digging around I found I have an order guide which I believe was the order guide for the UK market dated July 2006.

In it it clealy states that the GT3 will have "Thin Glass" and that the RS will have "Plastic" for the rear window.

It also states the luggage compartment lid will be in aluminum for both cars.

So, it would be very interesting if the USA got a CF luggage compartment lid and the ROW did not.

Dudes,

I have seen an email from PCNA to dealers identifying that the NA RS will have a carbon roof UNLIKE the ROW.

That would really be a nice piece of history, the first time the USA car has an advantage in equipment over the ROW or European car.

Same story here with Porsches, the original buyer gets certain benefits especially if he orders the car but the downside is the depreciation if the car is not kept long.

What does the ROW Club sports package include besides the roll bar? There is no info on the UK site for the package.
