Default GT3 Backseats

I am a newbie to this forum and forgive the ignorance of this question... Has anyone ever installed back seats to the GT3? I have kids so I was wondering if this is something that anyone has ever done?

Or do what I do: Take one at a time, and make sure the Airbag's off.

Yes rear seat belts and seats can be fitted to a GT3.

It's very simple to fit rear seats in a 3. The 3 shell is a strenghen C4 shell and all the mounting point are in place under the carpets The Porsche half roll cage mounts onto the seat belt points.

My insurance company approve in writing that I could fit a rear child sea, it looks like your has done too. You have to have a custom lap belt made for the prince seat. This is no problem I can have them made by the same company that make the Maclaren F1 team belts. They a local to me. they come with all fittings...easy.

Not going to stir the pot again... but never got the safety issue with this... liability, insurance issues, yes... safety... BS! No disrespect to you LVDell, I just find that looking it at it from an engineering point of view the GT3’s body, for all practical purpose, is the same as the rest of the cars. Only that Porsche decided not to fit rear seats due to the nature of the usage it was going to get… Not like I will take my kids along for the ride while I am tracking the car…

It is using the same factory hardware used in the other cars. The shell is the same or even better... the seats in the US fold so access to the back is not an issue...

I had to settle with the 996TT because of lack of rear seats in the GT3. The car I like and want is a GT3 but I need to be able to take my children to school every morning on my way to work and Porsche does not make a worthy NA 911 with rear seats.

Back to my box...

No disrespect taken Jaime

I would just hate to see what happens if you (anybody) were to put seats in the rear and take their kid and one of their friends for a ride and God forbid have an accident. That is where the legal ramifications come into serious play. Not to mention if it was the fault of the other driver and injured your child in the rear and their ins company comes back with the denial of a claim based on the fact that the car was not designed/equiped/etc for rear seats.

Just trying to look at it from the point of view of this horribly litigious society we live were EVERYBODY is looking to blame somebody else, trying to get paid, or trying to pass the blame.

But that is liability, not safety.

Do you know of a reason why a child, or any person, in the "backseat" of a GT3 is less safe than being in the backseat of another 996/7?

So you are throwing liability out the window?

You realize that your insurance company can deny YOUR claim against you even if it is a single car accident and the only occupants in the car are you and your daighter? If you really want back seats get another car. This is such a pointless discussion.

Safety is the same as in any 911. Insurance liability must be negotiated with your insurer.
