Default Track tires

How many of you change out tires to track your GT3? Considering the tires that are coming on the new GT3s is it worth considering for 4-6 track days a year?

The stock tires are the Michelin Sport Cups which do very nicely at the track (so long as it's warm). I think the bigger complaint will be the street driver who continually has to replace worn out tires. I doubt they will last a year.

I think some drivers will switch out their tires for street use, rather than the other way around. Most of us probably do not need the extra traction gained by the MPSC tires on the street. You could use Michelin PS2's on the street, and save the MPSC's for the track. The PS2's will last a whole lot longer than the MPSC's. IMHO

I've 2 track days, 5 autocrosses and 9,000 miles on one set of 19" PS2. They still have 5/32" of tread depth.

MPSC should be used to drive to the track, run the track day and get back home. It's a total waste to use MPSC for daily driving at 65mph on a highway. MPSC get heat cycled, and they don't last as long.
