The seats are not available yet. They do not even show any in Germany yet. The seats will not be available until atleast the time the cars come to the US. Once the cars start to show then the seats should. I have been keeping a close eye on these seats and will put together a group buy once the seats become available. E-mail me and I will put you on a waiting list and contact eveyone on the list once the group buy is going to be put together.

A question on the mounting hardware and other potential fitment issues too.

I just checked inventory in Porsche's system. They are not available yet. You are able to put an order in but will not be getting it any time soon. We checked the inventory in Germany as well and they do not have any. If anyone is ordering them right now they are made to order and atleast a 6 to 8 week wait.

I sat in the seats at SEMA and they are not as comfortable as the old GT3 ones or look as nice, just a lot of bling. The RS4 seats (euro) were much better. I would follow mooty's advise and pick another seat for track use. Street only, you don't need to updgrade.

I am looking into some Pole Position seats. I don't think I will need a harness. The three point should hold me in with the Recaros.
I need to get AW to get over to TC and see about the a half cage of somekind.

Jeff or any of you guys -
If the real RS seats, or any aftermarket seats for that matter, are installed in the car, does something have to be done by the dealer to let the car know there are no airbags in the seats? I am guessing this is a simple change that can be made with the PSTII or whatever the newer Porsche System Tester is called.
Thanks,
Hank

"When you have the race seat or seats installed the Dealer with a PIWIS Tester (Porsche Service Tester) can turn off the buckle(s) and airbags. This can be done on all of the 987, 997 and Cayman models. The change is done under the coding section."
Scott Slauson - PCA WebSite - 3/8/2006
As many of you know, when you install aftermarket seats (or even Porsche's GT3 seats) you'll end up with an air bag error when you start the car. You will also get an AWS (Automatic Weight Sensor) fault (you don't seen any errors but the Passenger Seat Airbag Off light in the center console lights up).
Turns out it is a trivial task for your Porsche dealer to set some ECU options to deal with all these faults. All you need to do is ask them to use their diagnostic computer to program the following options:
• Driver Thorax Airbag : No
• Passenger Thorax Airbag : No
• Driver Seatbelt Buckle: No
• Passenger Seatbelt Buckle: No
• AWS : No
No more error codes
WARNING: I DID THIS TO MY CAR. I NO LONGER HAVE AIRBAG OR SEAT BELT WARNING CHIME. I DONT KNOW IF THIS ONLY TURNS OFF THE LIGHT OR TURNS OFF ALL AIR BAGS COMPLETELY. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

i use the car pretty much on track only so i have harness on. but if you use the car on street a lot, perhaps airbag is wise. i don't have scientific data on that, sorry.
