It’s kind of confusing and misleading. Even though it’s on there doesn’t necessarily mean it was a decal delete car. The decal delete (option code #26441) was required in order to get deviated colored decals (order form denotes it as decorative film in deviating colored decals). It’s just a preparation option for other options to be installed later on. For instance, if you ordered a thicker Alcantara steering wheel it was required to select the normal leather wheel. If you wanted black or deviated colored wheels on a 997.2 GT3/RS silver wheels had to be selected. It’s like this with most cars with a few exceptions. DZL denotes an accent and graphics color change and most have the decal delete option in preparation for the deviated color graphics.

I have a soft spot for this car. It’s one of the very few 997.2 RS’s with the decals deleted and the accents (front air intake, mirrors, rear wing end plates) changed from either red or gold. Getting rid of any remnants of the original livery. The small white gold decals on the doors and the rear deck lid were added by a previous owner as the car originally had no stickers on it at all. Looks very clean IMO and one of my favorite 997.2 RS’s.
