Default What is this mesh near the side muffler?
What is this mesh near the side muffler? it almost looks like it's supposed to protect a wire. Is it a ground strap of some type?

I could be wrong but from what I remember, that steel braided rope looks like the stuff attached to the edges of the heat shield to create a seal between the heat shield pieces.
