Hello guys! New to the forum! Although I have been reading for ages.
I am about to purchase a MK1 997 GT3 and I have one doubt, as I had little time to fiddle with the car during the test. The wheel adjust for reach and up-down, would like it to extend a couple cm more towards me but nonetheless found a comfy position, so now I am doubting if the MK2 wheel moves closer to you than MK1
I tried a MK2 a while ago and remember the position was perfect, so the doubt now is, is the steering column the same as well as adjustability? Or there is any difference between the two models?
Unfortunately nearest car is quite far so can't test for myself!
Thanks!

I looked at the steering column, the .1 and .2 part numbers are the same. There was a change from 2007 to 2008 99734700708 to 99734700710. The one ending in 08 is no longer available.
The difference that you may notice is the .1 vs .2 seats. Club sport seats vs folding buckets vs standard may put your knees closer to the steering wheel or have your legs at a different angle. Also, the difference in the steering wheel diameter may cause a difference. But doesn't appear to be any difference in the actual steering wheel adjustment.

Yeah, I think you are right and has to be the sensation with different seats etc. A friend lent me his 997.1 Turbo yesterday and could find a perfectly confident position, now I also want a Turbo Cabrio after the GT3 hahahha
