Default Clunking/popping/clanging sound on clutch engagement

Getting around to repairing my 4.0 LWFW/clutch on my car. Transmission is fine, but I'm getting a clunk/metallic pop actuating the clutch. It's both audible and can be felt through the pedal.

Anyone have this type of failure? Ideas on what it could be?

Barring something something simple external, will mean a clutch job and look-see to find what's broken. I have about 35,000 miles on the clutch kit, car is used primarily for DE.

Cheers

Matt

Sounds like a bad pressure plate. Don’t know what else would make a noise while actuating the pedal.

Yeah, weird failure. Going to have to open her up and see. Clutch was otherwise fine but I guess will get an early refresh.

Cheers
