I can live with the wart on the dash. The roof, can’t accept it.

I can’t figure out why almost ALL 992 owners spec WITH XM WART.

That would the first box I tick

mine (XM bump) is painted to match the car,... so my question is are ALL of them painted to match the color of the car? ... or are some of them something else,... like black.

And maybe with darker cars, its a lot less noticeable. Also like Speedster911 said,... maybe its because the wing captures most of the focus (& the hips, etc etc)

all 992 yes painted to match

all 991.2 standard colors yes painted to match

all 991.2 pts colors - black

The worst offender of the xm wart is the 992 touring since it’s on the roof and no wing

they are all terrible though

gives the car something in common with common cars which a supercar should not.

I'm also one who doesn't care about the dash sport chrono being there either. When I'm driving I never even notice it.

And even when just sitting and admiring the car, I actually kinda think the sport chrono breaks up an otherwise long plateau of boring upper dashboard.
So I'm also a 1%'er there too.
I totally get what you mean. However my personal preference is for no sport chrono as it looks more clean to me and it more easily connects the look of the dash to the old air cooled cars. Though I wouldn’t turn down a good car because it has the wart on the dash or the roof. If I were speccing out a 997 GT car how I wanted it would be with no sport chrono or roof antenna. Sport chrono is a must for most in other models as it adds sport mode which changes the engine mapping and throttle response. PDK it sharpens shifts and gives sport plus mode with launch control. Turbo’s it gives an over boost function which gives an extra 50 Nm (37 lbs ft) of torque for up to 10 seconds. In GT cars it adds no function besides timing. Sport chrono plus only available with the PCM gives the ability to configure personal settings for up to three different ignition keys. Personalization settings can be set for the lights, wipers, door locking, and climate control.

I can't stand the antenna wart. For a long-term buy, any audio tech that isn't timeless or reversible should be left off the build IMO.

My 981 GT4 had no wart. All US 718 GT4s have it. Hard to unsee once you notice it. Luckily you can now order without on the 718 RS.

The move is to spec antenna delete and just stream satellite via SiriusXM app on your phone.

Amen to that.

I can’t believe how many 992 owners leave the wart ! Hard to find one without!

I think the only 992s you can delete it on are the GT3 RS and S/T, no?

for a very long time, the config had xm delete as an option on 992 gt3.. I’ve seen some in Europe; haven’t seen a U.S. car without .

Dash wart and XM option were a BIG no-no on my custom order.

I have it and oddly could care less.

Sport Chrono is a deal breaker for me though.

Looks cleaner without, but not a dealbreaker. Same with sport chrono.

I have a .1, so no XM wart.

when you’re driving you won’t notice it. 😊

When spec’ing new, I think a lot of people overlook these small details. At least back in 2007-2011 when the spec craze wasn’t happening.

When buying second hand, condition comes first. Everything else second.

As others have stated, dash wart was more of turnoff when I was hunting for my car. I think the elimination of a bump on the dash created a very traditional 911 dash.
