I wouldn’t sweat it if the car checks out, specially if it happened more than 50 operating hours ago.

This brings up an interesting point, I’ve been reading this forum for years and just havnt been able to find any Nikasil coated engine score or valve damage with anything under 5, can someone link us to something other than the generic Porsche verbiage?

not trying to spark a debate, Ive just not seen anything other than anecdotal arguments based off of generic manuals that say - range 5 probable damage - which applies to ALL engines which arnt created equal

That car spent 1/10th of a second at Range 3. It's good to go. I wouldn't even think twice.

2.24 seconds at Range 1
.23 seconds at Range 2

just curious what’s the math to get to that? I’ve always wondered that about mine

@SR20Fastback https://911virgin.com/engine-revs/

Did some calculations for you below. Number of ignitions / 3 = number of engine revolutions

Number of revolutions / by rev limiter = minutes spent at limiter

Minutes spent at limiter x 60 = seconds spent at limiter.

Consequently using the above data.

1655 / 3 = 551.7

551.7 / 9000 = 0.0612 minutes

0.0612x 60 = 3.7 seconds spent at the limiter as a cumulative total from new

That is awesome, thank you! Just bookmarked the link too so I don't lose that again. Very cool that they actually give you the range of revs for each model too.

And you use the lower of the range for each level. 9200 -9400, you would use 9200 for your calculation.

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

I’ve got a deal done on the car. First Porsche here I come.

PPI was fine apart from the 11 year old tires, dead battery and dead TPMS 😂

I'm hoping that just means the car was not driven very enthusiastically

Congrats! Share some details if you’d like once you get it. They’re really amazing cars.
