another lip bites the dust! >>
Took a nosedive into a dip in the road. I'm pretty surgical with this car on these roads, but this one got away from me. Ordered a cheap replacement on ebay. I wonder if you can get a volume discount?
(It's difficult to keep anything nice here in Massachusetts!)

Might as well buy 2 while you're at it!
I always used to scrape the hell out of my front lip on my 997.1. Now the FAL on the .2 really comes in handy.

If you get a surprise dip on the road, the FAL won't help at all 🫤
I have a functioning FAL but it takes about 5 seconds for it to be fully lifted-
FVD probably still sells the front lip-over the years there's been a lot of discussion on which one is the best, CUP version, with and without vents, etc. I can't recall if some were more malleable and flexible, some were even lower than stock, etc.
Might be a good time to list suppliers, where they're made, and prices. In the post pandemic inflated insanity, I just had to buy a new ignition switch-cheapest I could find was about $279 😑. Not even 3 years ago they cost about $180, so it seems parts prices in general are going up in price

The front of these cars is so low. I don’t know how anyone keeps these cars from scraping in the front without a lift.
I picked up some driveway ramps to try to save the lip but it might just be a part that stays beat up.

I tried a $100 Bayson-R replica and I was never really happy with it, but knew I got what I paid for. It had a greasy looking sheen and a few of the tabs would always pop out after scraping the driveway.
Eventually it cracked right down the middle like yours. Trying to remove it was a PITA because a few of the tabs were stuck, holding on so tight that I had to tear the lip off in pieces and resorting to brute force to dislodge shreds of it they were wedged in the grooves.
I'll never buy one again or recommend it to anyone even at $100. In May, I ended up getting two Cup lips from Carnewal for $400 shipped from Belgium. I was hesitant to go with Cups because they are lower than the standard OEM lip. For the first few drives it scraped on driveways and dips on the road, but eventually it wore down lol. While it gets scuffed up, the material has more 'give' and seems less likely to crack in the future.

Offtopic: Came across an even cheaper part: the underbody plastic air deflectors that lead air to the front breaks (4€ each! I get them changed every time car is in the workshop as they are being shaved off quite frequently through scraping )
