Default The Official 997.2 GT3 Registry

Mission: Join me in the mission to build the Official Generation 2 GT3 Registry for every NA 997.2 GT3 (non-RS) by PM'ing me if you own a 997.2 GT3 and want inclusion on this very exclusive registry.

Purpose: The 997.2 GT3 is considered by many to be the last of the great Porsches. Only 654 North American standards were produced for the Gen 2. Given the car's place in Porsche history, and its rarity, there ought to be a private registry of other Gen 2 owners.

How You Participate:
  • Simply PM me and let me know you have a 997.2 GT3, along with a picture of it or a link to a post you made with it in it, or something similar.
  • Send me your proof of ownership (see the bullet above) along with the following information to be included on the registry:
    1. Last 6 of the VIN (which I will use to assign your car a unique private identifier on the registry)
    2. Exterior Color
    3. Interior Color
    4. Carbon Ceramic Brakes (Y or N)
    5. Carbon Buckets (Y or N)
    6. The number owner you are in the car's history
    7. The state where you/the car is located (Totally Optional)
    8. Your email address (Totally Optional)
Privacy and Other Considerations: This is not a sales list. This list will not be shared with anyone, and will be kept securely and privately with me. I am not in the business of selling cars. I take privacy very seriously. The purpose of the registry is to have a private and canonical Official Generation 2 GT3 Registry. The goal is to get all 654 owners on that registry. If we do that, then maybe we can consider some curated events for Gen 2 owners, or something even cooler. At the community's discretion, once we've compiled a sufficient amount of cars on the registry, we may decide to share some of the information with the rest of the community. This will be a community decision. Not mine. And everyone's perspectives and thinking will be taken into account before anything is shared privately. If you have concerns about this, or optimizations to make the process better, please PM me and share.

I am starting this project knowing it's a long shot, and not something I will be able to do on my own. So if you see this and don't own a Gen 2 GT3 but know someone you do, please feel free to forward to them.

These registries are great. Don't know how hard it would be for you, Haripin, or past owners to include cars they sold. It would allow lineage in the registry which would be great. I know you're not doing .1 cars but if you were, I'd send over info on me old car which I sold along with the new one sitting in the garage.

Down the line, everyone will be thanking you for this registry however you decide to format it.

Thank you @RAudi Driver for the support. Hopefully the Generation 2 Registry will be a success and we can get a Generation 1 going.

Once you're up and running, and I see your layout I may be willing to sod one for the 2007 and 2008 997.1 RS's. USA Canadian models only.

❤️ value added threads.

The PM's have been overwhelming with people looking to get onto the Generation 2 Registry. Thanks for everyone's support thus far! Hoping to keep adding to this for as long as I am able to keep up with the inflows. For now, I'm only able to do about 5 per day, so please bare with me as I get to you and add to the registry.

Want to thank everyone for participating and adding themselves to the Official Generation 2 Registry. I'm pleased to announce that the first ten (10) Members to join will be awarded the status of "Founder" in the registry. Currently, there are only 5 spaces left to achieve Founders status on the Registry. I am also considering having badges made for Founder-level Members. Don't miss the chance to join the Official Generation 2 Registry by adding your 997.2 GT3 (using the instructions above).

Big shoutout to the Members who have just achieved Founders status!

You're making me think we should include the RS's ... they are Generation 2 after all.

Pardon my ignorance, but can’t figure out how to PM you. The registry sounds terrific, thanks for your effort.

No worries. It may also be because my inbox has been filled. PM'ing you now, so let's see if that does the trick!
