Euro 997 GT3 RS/CGT Perlon Seats
#16
Perlon ages better (doesn't shrink and stretch like leather). I think perlon was only offered on RS and clubsport models, thus making them more rare. In general the perlon seats don't get nearly as hot as leather seats, they don't make you sweat like leather, its closer to a race seat.
If I had an extra $20K to burn I'd pull the trigger. They are the holy grail 997 seat. In the meantime, I slum it with my 996 perlons. If I wanted to sell the 996 perlons I'd list them for $10K
I think if you post them up for sale on RL or BAT for $20K you'll sell them. You could speculate that they're worth $30K but you'll need to find the buyer, depends on how fast you want to move them. Also at this price point people are purchasing 991 seats. They seem to fit into the 997, but I don't know about the seating position or height. The 991 is so much bigger than the 996/7, but they do bolt up.

I think Belinko has a great idea. Put them up on BAT for top dollar. Heck that last sale was pretty surprising.

Thanks for all of the input, planning to place on BaT once that all comes together. Available here as stated for $20k in the meantime.

Going to BaT in the near future and will remove the for sale ad at that point if not sold.

Since you’ve sat in both, how does the shape of the CGT seat feel compared to the folding GT2 buckets? I am highly contemplating CGT seats as I currently have some mint GT2 buckets in mine that I unearthed last year.

The are a bit narrower in the upper section in my opinion, and overall I fit the CGT seat better. Some other on here could add to that but I didnt feel the area that your knees rest was any different and it was all in the wasit-up area that it has a tighter feel.

I much prefer cgt / euro gt3 buckets but prefer even further the xl width most cgts came with vs the “standard width” of the euro GT perlon or alcantera versions. I could never get comfortable on long trips in the folding buckets although they are pretty cool functionally that they fold and are buckets. However I think seats/buckets working for different people is totally dependent upon how different people fit different buckets.
cgt wide buckets are some of my fav seats of any car I’ve owned; bucket or sofa. Cgt / euro 997 standard width a close 2nd but can be a bit narrow in shoulders and I’m a pretty narrow build already. I don’t have any use for 997 euro gt3 buckets anymore but I liked them enough to keep a PERFECT pair Mooty sold me years ago just in case I ever owned a car again they made sense to install. The folding guys, while pretty and functional, just lacked the support and padding my old ****/back need these days.
the euro 997 gt3 perlon weren’t as pretty but a lot cooler. Thr alcantera versions can get hot specially given they are narrow. The pair I kept were alcantera however. They are definitely interior jewelry!

Likely a long shot at this point—but, @FLT6SPD, do you still have these from your previous post?

My .1 RS came with the perlon cgt seats. I bought a pair of .2 folding buckets and now the cgt seats are sitting in the garage gathering dust.
i thought I would sell them but then if one day I’d like to sell my car, it wouldn’t be 100% original. The car has already 45k miles so not a collector car. Would the “wrong” seats reduce the cars value? by 20k? Would I get more if I sold the car and seats separately one day?
if it makes little difference in the end, it would propably make sense to sell the seats now. First world problems 😂
