When you install an exhaust on those C&C cars, they go Frap Frap Frap.
Can't wait to see some pictures. What's the holdup?

I actually laughed out load at that one.
I all seriousness he owns it, he can do whatever he wants with it, who is to say otherwise? Random negative comments play no role so don't rain on his parade.

Alright alright, it was unnecessary.
Just over the investment value threads. Drive the car, life is short. Mine had 7k mikes when I got it. Car was in Boston. Said screw it, and road-tripped from Boston to Tampa driving through the dragon, all the cites, blue ride mountains, etc.
Probably took 20-40k off the value of the car at least, since it has 5 digits on odo. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. These cars are meant to be driven.

I say, if you can only afford one, like me, you're gonna have to drive it. If you can afford multiples, then by all means tuck one away.

For a little bit of comparative context, I bought my own 997.2 GT3 RS just over 10 years ago when it was 3 years old. It had just about 60k miles on it at the time and was very likely the highest mileage GT3 RS in the entire USA at the time. Now, after 10 years of ownership I am approaching 70k miles on it. Over that period of time I've taken plenty of road trips, enjoyed the car on race tracks and roads alike, and had plenty of adventures by myself and with other Porsche enthusiasts. I think conservatively the car is worth about 2 - 2.2x more than I paid for it when I bought the car in 2013.
Unlike many here, I don't care that much about the value and I added a 997.1 GT2 to my collection about 4 years ago to have a great set of GT Porsches. I paid less for both my 997 based GT Porsches than you can spend on a single cream puff example of each one, and I'd do it the same way every single time. These are truly awesome cars to drive...and I highly recommend doing exactly that with them. The memories I've made actually DRIVING my cars far exceeds the monetary gains, and I hope to always feel that way about them.
It sounds bizarre to me for someone to suggest buying another example of the same car just so that they could drive it more, but I realize that really is a thing!

If you have 15 cars and still manage to put 1-2k miles on each - good on you mate!

To be fair, 5 of those cars are race cars that stay at the track. So 10 street cars. I need to trade one in as I buy new ones, but never seem to do it. hahaha. I'm a hoarder of gas burners. I'll be making moonshine fuel for my cars in 20 years when the rest of you are driving EVs.

If you’re buying a 997 RS you’re clearly not relying on this investment to support your livelihood. Look at it as you paid a bit of a premium to own an older car as new.. and drive the hell out of it.
