Steve's long-term 997.1 GT2 and 997.2 GT3 RS adventure thread
In my effort to 'share my GT2 with the world', I do try to take it places and show it off to people as many of you regular RL GT2 owners know. This started with the cross-country tour of the USA nearly 4 years ago when I brought it home after purchasing it near Toronto, Canada and of course turned into my desire to make the car mine through modifications and such. I later took it on a road trip to Las Vegas and back in fall of 2021, participated in a lapping day with the car while there, and most recently modified it over the past winter with a Shark Werks tune and exhaust.
To kick off the 2023 driving season properly I took the GT2 on a ~350 mile road trip up to Bellingham, WA where I was able to visit the GiroDisc Brakes open house for a PCA club activity, and then went to Western Washington University to cheer them on as they revealed their new FSAE electric race car to all of us. Throughout it all, the GT2 was of course cool, calm, and collected as it took my wife and I there and back in patches of rough weather and heavy traffic. Fortunately there were also dry patches where I could exercise the beast, and she was as well behaved as ever. Mileage at the end of the trip was around 50,300 so this car continues to put in work as she sees the world!
It's fun to share with those of you who love these great cars, and I must say that I received a ton of compliments on the car at Porsche of Bellingham as they correctly and somewhat somberly noted that no one actually drives these great cars anymore. Well, I'm very pleased to say that at least someone does, and traveling by GT2 just never goes out of style!
There will be other fun adventures planned for this year, so I hope to share them here in this thread as the year progresses. Above all, I hope many of you are also enjoying your awesome GT2s as they are so much better out on the road and/or track!
Starting the day early at GiroDisc in Bellingham
The WWU FSAE team members proudly showing off Viking 64 to the world!
A fun tag line from the back of Viking 61
My GT2 wondering when we'd finally return to take her somewhere else!
Visiting Porsche Bellingham in a modern classic (if you squint you can see a 992 Sport Classic finished in Gulf Blue behind my 997.1 GT2)
Finding a safe parking spot at the Seattle Premium outlet mall took some serious walking!
Back home safe in her lair after a ~350 mile fun day out in the world!

I did a quick Ninja style edit of my thread title as I realized I also want to chronicle the adventures of my 997.2 GT3 RS, which is my favorite child of them all. So I'll just include both cars in the same thread.
For my birthday yesterday mother nature decided to play very nice and I prepared the 3RS for its first drive of the season. Despite a few boring activities like a run to Costco (fun to watch reactions of others in the parking lot), I was able to enjoy the 3RS on some of my favorite nearby backroads. Please enjoy a few photos of my pride and joy out in the wild, and it looks like our local Exotics show is finally kicking off this coming weekend so I'll have another great excuse to take this car out again soon.
Starting the day with a nice backdrop in my home city of North Bend, WA
Posing with my beauty, which I've owned for nearly 10 glorious years!
A fresh tank of ethanol-free fuel to help my 3RS perform her best
Shopping at Costco with this livable supercar. Note my Hurley Haywood signature under-hood for the eagle eyed observers!
Another pose with my beautiful Porsche at a local winery
My much better half posing with her competition! Both were made in Germany!
Wrapping up the day after stopping for frozen yogurt and some special candy treats
My 3RS continues to put in great work, now up to 69150 miles

Congrats Steve! 50K / 100K mi on a GT2; life goals
These cars are fabulous road trip companions. Hope to see more used that way.
Quick Q for you: looks like you're sporting the GT2 RS front spoiler and the stock rear gurney flap. Have you noticed any difference between the stock front lip at freeway speeds...and "Mexico" speeds?

PS. If all goes to plan, there may be an upcoming update on my long-term brake upgrade project...but definitely too early to celebrate anything there yet.
Thanks for the year round inspiration from the fun projects and adventures you are having with your own 3RS! I always enjoy seeing your great updates, and with any luck I'll see you this coming Saturday morning in Redmond!

Tomorrow is our annual kick-off for the Exotic Car Show that I like to attend, so it will be fun to take the GT3 RS as my favorite child to see all our friends (hers and mine). Photos to come of course!

I got to hang out with @Steve Theodore today at E@RTC. Here are photos I grabbed of his lovely white/weissgold RS.
A friend of mine captures my favorite photo, @Steve Theodore and me chatting. This photo showcases the great community we have as 997 GT owners. (Steve Left, Me right) We talked for a good 30min about various topics. (3RS, GT2, sharkwerks, JDM, 991s, 997s, decals, clear vs red tails)
