My recently purchased 7.2 GT3 came with the OEM wheels and an extra set of OZ Superleggera which look too JDM for my taste. My favorite wheel is the Motorsport wheels included in the Weissach package on the 991.2 GT2RS, GT3RS and the GT4RS. To my eye, it's a timeless classic design that perfectly suits every generation of the watercooled 911 and it's what I want.
The BBS magnesiums are $20k and the aluminum versions are $9k. After spending about the value of the magnesiums in the four months I've owned the car, I don't really want to spend more than $5k on wheels. I looked at variants of that design from Apex, BC Forged, Titan 7 and others but found ZERO wheel manufacturers that make this design specifically for the 997.2 GT3. In fact, through the process, I learned that there are very few wheel options for our cars. Decent for both RS generations and for .1s but not .2s. Luckily, I convinced the guys at Titan 7 to build the wheel for me and they agreed. $2,940 for the set + ~$120 shipping.
However, for them to engineer this limited edition wheel, they need a minimum of 5 sets purchased and I only need one. So... who's in with me?
19x9 ET ~48 fits PCCBs and 245s
19x12 ET ~63 fits 305s to 325s (depending on toe arms, camber shims and alignment)
Approximate weight: 20-21 lbs F and 22-23 lbs R
Below is Titan 7 owner's personal car. He did the lug nut conversion. The wheels will very similar but with centerlocks.

Just wondering how in the world they are able to sell a fully forged set of wheels for under $3,000.
This has been my thought too. I’d really like to see Forgeline come out with a set for the $5-7k range. I have no problem spending more than CH-R’s ($3k), but I start to run when I see $9k for the RE-MTSP. I’ve tried to justify it but just can’t yet.
Now, if they made the FI-R in narrowbody 7.1 GT3 fitment in 19”, I’d probably be buying.

I don't know. However, what I do know is that they wouldn't weigh what they weigh if they were not proper forged wheels. Titan Ts are used on the track quite a bit and that's all that I need to know. OZ, Apex and BC Forged are all in the same price range. Perhaps we're so used to $10k price tags from BBS, HRE, Forgeline etc. that it seems questionable but all these $3k range wheel brands have solid reputations.

Titan 7 has a five double spoke similar to FI-R and considered it but I much prefer the seven double spoke.

There are a lot of factors that make up the final price of a forged wheel, but three main ones are:
1) the quality of aluminum that is being purchased to make the wheels
2) the amount of time they are paying engineers to ensure the short term quality and long term durability of the wheel
3) cost of labor in the country that they are making the wheels
With a forged wheel at that price point and knowing the factors above, you can begin to fill in the blanks.

They could be forged in China for a lot less than in the US/EU.

Apex are forged in China but Titan Says, "In house". whatever that means. House could be in china!

For example, you will have a factory ship to a broker > which is then shipped overseas to an importer > which is purchased by a distributor > then to a shop > then to the consumer. It would be inconvenient for you to mention that a major reason the wheels you sell cost 2x or 3x more is because you as a dealer, along with other middlemen need to mark them up. Nothing wrong with that, but call things as they are. Frankly, I find it in poor taste for you to come to my thread where I'm looking for four others to purchase these wheels in order to meet the minimum quota to have them made and make disparaging suggestions. Titan7 along with OZ, Apex, BC Forged, and others, are used on track because they are light, strong and cost under $4k. That says more about the quality of the wheels than your suggestion that they are of poor quality materials, poorly engineered, or poorly manufactured.
