Default Bulletproofing a 7.2 during engine out service?!

Hey guys, newer owner here! I’m having my engine pulled shortly in my 11 GT3 to have the coolant pipes welded up, and was wondering what you guys would recommend having done while I’m in there. It’s got 29k on her so I’m not sure what’s typically needed. Everything is currently in good condition with no oil leaks or anything.

I just read about cam bolts and whatnot and get kinda freaked out after coming from years of a GTR headache and want to make sure the GT3 gets years of reliable use! Thanks in advance for the advice!

Totally depends what’s been done… there are a number of threads on “while your in there” topics for your LSD, trans, engine… like you said cam bolts, coolant tank etc.

That being said I also got my car at 28k miles… if it hasn’t been done and you want to be confident with known demons, I would bleed the brakes, replace the caliper seals and replace the hubs (at least the rear).

Below are some official campaigns that you can check to see if they where done.

WC512 Replace resonance tube / 6600 Workshop campaign
WC081 Re-program DME control unit (GT3) / 6600 Workshop campaign
WC091 Replace clutch pedal switch / 6600 Workshop campaign

Beyond that you should:
- Replace coolant tank
- Service resonance tube flaps (secure screws on flaps)
- Plugs and coils
- 4.0 Clutch kit
- Vario Cam bolt fix - depends on your vendor so do your homework
- Rear Main Seal

- Maybe go all the way with a SW 4.1
